Stuffing Joy Jars for Kids With Cancer

A Return That Meant Something

Volunteering for kids with cancer looks different for everyone, but for the Fielding Law team, it meant returning to the headquarters of the Jessie Rees Foundation to stuff JoyJars once again. From the moment the team walked in, there was a shared sense of purpose.

This was not a first visit. However, volunteering for kids with cancer a second time brought a deeper level of connection. Familiar faces, meaningful work, and a mission rooted in hope created a day that stayed with everyone long after it ended.

Volunteering For Kids With Cancer Through JoyJars

At its core, volunteering for kids with cancer can be simple. The team gathered around tables, carefully filling each JoyJar with small items meant to bring comfort and distraction. Then, each jar was packed with intention.

Although the items may seem small, the impact is not. Each jar is created for a child facing treatment. Because of that, every piece placed inside carries meaning.

In addition, the experience brings people together. It allows teams to slow down and focus on something bigger than themselves. That shift matters.

A Perspective That Stays With You

After volunteering for kids with cancer, many people leave with a different outlook. The day does not feel ordinary. Instead, it feels grounding.

Clark H. Fielding, who participated for the second time, shared,
“You always feel a sense of gratitude, enlightenment, and purpose after serving. It brings a clearer life perspective and helps reprioritize what truly matters.”

His words reflect what the team experienced. As a result, everyday stress feels quieter. Priorities feel clearer. Gratitude becomes easier to recognize.

Why Volunteering For Kids With Cancer Matters To Us

For Fielding Law, volunteering for kids with cancer is part of a larger commitment to helping people. While legal work focuses on guiding clients through difficult moments, community outreach allows the team to give back in a different way.

More importantly, it reflects who they are. Showing up matters. Being present matters. Supporting others, in any way possible, matters.

Because of that, these moments are not one time events. They are part of an ongoing effort to stay connected to the community.

Carrying Service Forward

After a day like this, the feeling does not fade quickly. Instead, it follows you into everyday life.

What once felt important may shift. Challenges can feel more manageable. A clearer sense of perspective begins to take shape and stays present in quiet ways.

Volunteering for kids with cancer does more than support others. It leaves a lasting impression on those who show up to serve.

At Fielding Law, that perspective is something the team values deeply. If you need guidance after an injury, you can call 833.88.SHARK for a free consultation. The team is here to help with care, clarity, and compassion.

2026 Chapman University Competitions Reception

By Firm News and Celebrations, In the Community, Personal Injury

The Chapman Competitions Reception at Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law, held in Kennedy Hall, honored students competing in the 2025 to 2026 advocacy competitions season. The event brought together students, alumni, and coaches to recognize growth in trial and appellate advocacy.

Each competitor was called to the stage by name and individually recognized. The evening also included speeches from graduating students and alumni coaches. Two awards were presented, Coach of the Year and the Nancy L. Schultz Excellence in Advocacy Awards.

Fielding Law Sponsorship

Fielding Law was proud to support the Chapman Competitions Reception sponsorship as part of its ongoing commitment to advocacy education at Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law.

Events like this reflect the same values that matter in practice, preparation, communication, and attention to detail. These are the skills students develop through competition and carry into their legal careers.

Ryan Cooper speaking at the 2026 Chapman University Competitions ReceptionAlumni Connection And Ryan Cooper

Ryan Cooper, Senior Attorney at Fielding Law and a Competitions alumnus, served as an alumni speaker and shared reflections on his experience in the program at Chapman University. His remarks highlighted how advocacy training shaped his approach to legal work and professional development.

Alumni involvement continues to strengthen the connection between current students and practicing attorneys.

Building Future Legal Teams

Fielding Law also maintains a strong connection to Chapman University through its internship and law clerk program. Several members of our team have come directly from Chapman University and Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law, bringing strong advocacy training into real casework experience.

These early opportunities allow students to apply classroom and competition skills in a professional setting while gaining exposure to personal injury and negligence cases.

Why It Matters

Supporting programs like the Chapman Competitions Reception reflects a broader commitment to developing future advocates. The transition from student competitions to real legal practice is shaped by mentorship, education, and hands-on experience.

Fielding Law values that pipeline and the students who grow within it.

Guiding Chapman University Law Students at Admitted Students Day 2026

By Firm News and Celebrations, In the Community, Personal Injury

Ryan Cooper returned to Chapman University for Chapman Admitted Students Day 2026. As a Senior Attorney at Fielding Law and a graduate of Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law, he met with future law students who are preparing to start their legal path.

In addition, the event helped students learn what law school is really like. It also gave them a chance to hear real stories from people who have already gone through the process.

Welcoming Future Law Students

Admitted Students Day is designed to help new students feel ready. Because of that, alumni and faculty spend time answering questions and sharing their experiences.

During the event, many students asked about the same key topics:

  • First year law school expectations
  • How to prepare before classes begin
  • Skills that matter most early on

As a result, students left with a clearer idea of what to expect. In many cases, this helps reduce stress before the first semester even begins.

From Law School To Practice

Ryan’s own path at Chapman helped shape his career. First, he graduated magna cum laude. Then, he ranked in the top five percent of his class. After that, he served as Managing Editor of Law Review.

He also took part in mock trial work. Because of this, he built strong speaking and case skills early on.

Today, he works at Fielding Law in personal injury law. He helps people who have been injured due to negligence and guides them through each step of the legal process.

Real World Insight For New Students

Events like this are helpful because they connect school life with real legal work.

For example, Ryan shared that law school success is not only about grades. Instead, it also depends on focus, clear communication, and steady work habits.

In addition, he explained that the legal field is always changing. Therefore, students who stay open and flexible often adjust more easily once they begin practice.

Why This Event Matters

Chapman Admitted Students Day 2026 helps future students feel more prepared. At the same time, it builds a stronger connection between alumni and new students.

Overall, when students hear directly from practicing attorneys, they gain clearer direction. As a result, they begin law school with more confidence and better expectations.

Fielding Law Hosts Ballot Measures Signing Event

By In the Community, Personal Injury, Sexual Assault & Abuse

Our Irvine office recently welcomed community members to sign two important statewide ballot measures sponsored by the Consumer Attorneys of California. Attendees took action to protect victims, strengthen public safety, and hold companies accountable.

Ballot Measures Available to Sign

  • People’s Right to Contract With Counsel of Choice Act
  • Sexual Assault Against Rideshare Passengers and Drivers Prevention and Accountability Act

These initiatives ensure that victims of negligence and assault retain access to justice, medical care, and fair compensation. Attendees also learned about deceptive tactics by companies like Uber and why supporting genuine consumer protections is essential.

How You Can Help

As petitions begin circulating, we want to urge you to be cautious and decline to sign Uber’s petition. Instead, we encourage you to sign petitions to get two initiatives that really do protect consumers on the ballot: People’s Right to Contract With Counsel of Choice Act and the Sexual Assault Against Rideshare Passengers. By doing so, your actions will help ensure that accident victims, and not multi-billion-dollar companies, continue to be protected under California law.

Fielding Law Supports the Community

Fielding Law is proud to host this event and to stand alongside Californians working to protect victims and uphold justice. We thank everyone who participated and helped advance these important protections.

Golf for a Cause – Holiday Hack 2025

By Firm News and Celebrations, In the Community

This year, Fielding Law and Senior Attorney Ryan Cooper were proud to sponsor the Holiday Hack 2025 golf tournament at Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, on December 19, 2025. The event was about more than just golf. Every swing and shot helped support the Fisher House Foundation, making a meaningful difference for the families of wounded, injured, and ill service members and veterans.

The Calling of Fisher House

This nonprofit provides free lodging for families of wounded, injured, or ill service members and veterans. It allows them to stay close to their loved ones during treatment without worrying about the cost. Participation in the golf tournament directly supports this mission, helping families focus on what truly matters, being together.

The cost to play was $200 per player, which includes green fees, on-course games, lunch, and a post-tournament dinner. Every dollar goes straight to the organization, ensuring families receive the support and comfort they need during challenging times. By joining the tournament, golfers enjoy a day on the course. They also help make a real difference for those who have served.

Highlights From Our Very Own

Fielding Law proudly sponsored Hole 10 for the cause. Our hole was hosted by Case Manager Alyssia Sparks and People & Culture Siera Cerulle, who brought extra excitement with a giant dice game. Participants could donate additional funds to Fisher House for a chance to win and tee off from the kids’ tees for a better shot at the hole.

Alyssia Sparks shared that the tournament “was a hit.” Childhood friends, college teammates, fathers and sons, and more joined in foursomes, creating a day full of camaraderie. Hamburgers, drinks, and plenty of laughter kept spirits high as everyone played for a purpose.

Attorney Ryan Cooper even hit the course alongside his dad, making the event especially meaningful. We are grateful to everyone who joined us in supporting Fisher House this holiday season.

Striving to Inspire Lasting Change

Fielding Law is driven by a commitment to giving back and supporting the community. Through events like the Holiday Hack 2025, we were proud to help the Fisher House Foundation and their mission of keeping loved ones close during challenging times. We are also honored to support causes like the Jessie Reese NEGU Foundation, helping bring hope and resources to those who need it most. This work reflects how Fielding Law shows up for the community and our clients.

Fielding Law Attends OCTLA Top Gun Awards Charity Event

By Firm News and Celebrations, In the Community, Personal Injury

This past Saturday, our attorneys attended the OCTLA Top Gun Awards charity event. The occasion celebrated excellence in the legal community and contributed to a meaningful cause. Each year, OCTLA selects a charity, and this year the Jessie Rees Foundation was honored. The foundation brings hope and encouragement to children facing cancer. It provides support to families during difficult times.

Supporting a Meaningful Cause

Clark Fielding and the Fielding Law team purchased a table and made a donation to support the foundation. Senior Attorney Ryan Cooper contributed a football and jersey signed by NFL star Josh Allen to the silent auction. The generosity of attendees helped raise nearly $240,000 for the Jessie Rees Foundation, allowing the organization to continue its important programs for children and families.
